How to Measure Patio Furniture Before Buying a Cover

Measure your furniture first, then compare the dimensions of the exact cover variant. A furniture name or photograph is not enough to establish fit.
Record width, depth and height
Measure the widest side-to-side span, the furthest front-to-back span and the height to the highest point. Include arms, backs and protruding parts. For round furniture, record diameter and height.
Measure the stored arrangement
If chairs will be covered with a table, measure the entire group with the chairs positioned as they will be stored.
Compare units and fit notes
Keep measurements in the same units. Check the size diagram and any stated allowance for the exact product; do not assume that every cover needs the same clearance.
