How to Clean and Store Outdoor Furniture Covers

Cleaning and storage should follow the instructions for the cover you own. Outdoor furniture covers can use different fabrics, coatings and fastening components, so a method that suits one model should not automatically be applied to another.

Read the care label first

Check which cleaning methods and products are permitted. Use a damp cloth or gentle rinse only when the instructions allow it. Do not assume that the cover can be machine washed, tumble dried, bleached or treated with a waterproofing product. Ask support if the label is missing or unclear.

Dry before packing away

Let the cover dry fully using the method specified for its material. Folding it while damp can leave moisture trapped in storage. Choose a dry storage location away from sharp objects, and do not force the cover into a space that could damage its seams or fasteners.

Inspect before the next use

Check the fabric, seams and any supplied buckles, straps or drawcords. Follow the product's instructions if a component is worn or damaged.
